I was raised here in Middleborough, MA and continue to live and work here too. I started brewing five gallon batches on my stovetop, sound familiar? Within a year I was brewing all grain ten gallon batches in the garage!

Brewing ten gallon batches worked for a while. It helped me experiment with different yeast strains, malts and hops. After about five years of that, I built my own twenty gallon three-tier system. Building that system was right up my alley, since I was an auto body technician for almost twenty years.

It was finally time. In 2015 I decided to take this brewing to the next level… Open a brewery! Easier said than done. It was a two year process for me.

From 2017 to 2023 I worked as a Autobody Technician during the day and then worked on all things beer at night and weekends. I’m tired just thinking of this time period… haha

Harper Lane was a tenant brewery (not to be confused with contract brewing). We brewed, fermented, packaged and sold our beer without a brewery location. We simply rented the brewing system and space from a existing brewery. We used our own stainless steel fermenters, glycol chiller and kegs.
